Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Head Volleyball Coach, the Assistant Coach will serve as a member of the Department of Athletics and be responsible for administration of all aspectsrelating to a positive and beneficial intercollegiate athleticsexperience for student-athletes. Must be available nights and weekend hours.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
The Assistant coach at Fort Lewis College, an NCAA Division IIinstitution in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, is responsible for assisting all aspects of an athleticallycompetitive volleyball program, including, but not limitedto:
- Organizing and conducting skill instruction, practice, and training schedules
- Effectively manage relationships with student-athletes,coaches, and the broader campus community
- Strategize and meet recruiting goals along with all other aspects of the evaluation of prospective student-athletes
- Provide appropriate leadership in practice and competitive environments
- Conduct sound fiscal management, and participate in fundraisingactivities supporting the program
- Ensure a quality student-athlete experience through community engagement, campus involvement, and competitive achievement
- Monitor academic and disciplinary standing ofstudent-athletes
- Establish positive relationships with support staff
- Assist in planning as well as participate in volleyball campsand clinics
- Represent the volleyball program as designated by the headcoach
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive vehicles per board policy
- Ability to drive up to 15-passenger van/bus
- Assist the Athletic Business office as assigned
- Other duties as assigned

- One or more years experience coaching
- Experience at the NCAA level

- Typical Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to5:00 p.m.
The s alary range is $20,100, plus a comprehensive benefits package
