SummaryDevelop accommodations and curriculum modifications, create standards‑aligned IEPs, and ensure fidelity of implementation. In collaboration with general education staff, plan and deliver specialized instruction and assessment aligned with district learner outcomes and state standards. Supervise assigned students, maintain a positive learning environment, actively progress‑monitor student goals, and provide direct and indirect support to meet individual learning needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Work with the IEP Team to develop, implement, and monitor students’ IEPs, maintaining communication with families and other team members.
- Coordinate with school administrators, counseling staff, and service providers to develop schedules for students on the caseload.
- Use case‑management strategies to support student outcomes based on the adopted curriculum for assigned grades and subjects, and collaborate with general education teachers to modify the curriculum as needed.
- Train and support paraprofessionals assigned to students, assisting in the development of their schedules.
- Utilize formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning and report results per district policy.
- Model and promote character education, including citizenship, bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and responsible work habits.
- Provide safety instruction for activities that pose potential harm, ensuring students use appropriate protective devices.
- Maintain a positive, orderly learning environment, managing disruptive behavior and enforcing the Student Conduct Code.
- Maintain continuous relationships with families to share information about student programs and improve home‑school relationships.
- When necessary, develop behavior support plans, health plans, safety plans, and crisis plans with the IEP Team.
- Assist students with daily routines, including transportation, self‑care, medical needs, and use of assistive devices.
- Abide by all applicable federal, state, and district laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in a related subject from an accredited university.
Experience is preferred but not required.
Certificates, Licenses, and RegistrationsColorado teaching license with endorsements for the required levels and subjects. Pass the PLACE or PRAXIS II Test. Meet CDE and ESSA requirements for In‑Field Teacher. Complete CPI training upon hire.
