2026-27 Substitute Teacher, Durango School District

Starting Date: Immediately

Durango School District is recruiting licensed substitute teachers for the  school year to work with our amazing students and staff!

• We pay $185 per day for a full day assignment.
• 3-5 day consecutive substituting assignments pay $195 per day.
• Long term substitute assignments pay $265 per day.

Requirements include:

• Valid Colorado Department of Education teaching license OR
• A 3- or 5-year Colorado substitute authorization OR
• A 1-year Colorado substitute authorization with completion of at least one year of post-secondary education.

• Experience working with children; experience in a classroom setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication, basic language, basic math, and basic writing skills.
• Minimum of two professional or academic references. We do not accept family or friends as references.
• Strong computer skills required (navigation of electronic system independently).
