Job DescriptionDurango School District 9-R is hiring an Assistant Football Coach at Miller Middle School to begin the 2024/2025 school year. This coaching position involves instructing middle school students (grades 7 and
8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of football. Practice begins in early August 2026.
- Knowledge of effective coaching practices/techniques of football
- Ability to build rapport with middle school students
- Ability to build individual and team character and confidence
- Ability to relate to students of varying athletic abilities
- Ability to conduct oneself in an ethical and exemplary manner at all times
- Ability to work positively with coaches, staff, and administration
- Ability to communicate effectively with student athletes and parents
