Lead Medical Assistant

The Lead Medical Assistant is responsible for actively coordinating and organizing an efficient clinic workflow for an in‑person and/or telemedicine visits across Primary Care practice. This position will monitor and resolve potential scheduling issues or complaints during clinic hours, and act as the lead to all Medical Assistant staff, ensuring adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and operational workflows.

• Coordinate and organize efficient clinic workflow for in‑person and telemedicine visits.
• Monitor and resolve potential scheduling issues or complaints during clinic hours.
• Monitor the lab/imaging of patients, and assist with prior authorizations for ambulatory prescriptions and prescription refill management.
• Perform various office and clerical duties.
• Ensure patient privacy, safety, and confidentiality, and maintain a safe environment in accordance with standards, policies, and safety regulations.
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies.
• Responsible for clinic supply ordering under the supervision of the Clinic Supervisor.
• Assist physicians with minor clinical procedures including staple removal, suture removal, and wound care (10%).
• Act as a lead and mentor to all Medical Assistant staff, ensuring that staff adhere to policies, procedures, and operational workflows.
• Conduct orientation, precepting/onboarding of new staff, and monitor staff competencies.
• Perform in‑person or telemedicine intake as defined by operational procedure, obtaining and appropriately recording patient vital signs and medication lists.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma program.
• Minimum 2 years Experience as a medical assistant, preferably with prior clinic experience.
