Manager of Behavioral Health (Clinical) – Full Time – Durango Regional Crisis Center – Durango, CO

The Manager of Behavioral Health is responsible for the operation and management of assigned behavioral health programs and may be called upon to provide expertise for organization policy or programming. The Manager will oversee assigned program areas of operation and must act independently while representing the policies, priorities, and values of Axis. The role requires maturity, thorough knowledge of management dynamics, community relations abilities, and an understanding of the overall behavioral health systems involved in the assigned service delivery lines.

Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in one of the recognized mental health professions (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling).
  • Licensed or license‑eligible in Colorado as LPC, LMFT, LCSW or PhD. LAC or CAS licensure preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of post‑graduate clinical experience in a healthcare setting, including at least two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
  • Knowledgeable regarding patient health information and HIPAA compliance.
  • Organized and demonstrates the ability to follow guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self‑directed.
  • Ability to follow the organization’s confidentiality and security rules.
  • Annual flu immunization by Nov 1 required; annual TB screening; de‑escalation training; BLS certificate.
Physical Demands

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move 15 to 50 pounds. Employees are frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Employee must be able to sit for longer periods at a computer. Employees must be able to travel between Axis locations. Possible potential exposure to communicable disease. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Required Skills
  • Operate standard office equipment including scanner, computer, calculator, copy machine, fax and multi‑line telephone.
  • Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and ability to access the internet.
  • Helpful and sensitive to the needs of all employees, while concurrently respecting corporate policies, procedures and priorities.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Ability to communicate job‑related information to individuals and small groups.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision; plan own work schedule effectively and multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Multi‑task, organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes‑hectic environment with frequent interruptions.

  • Maintain confidentiality of work.
  • Current driver’s license, qualify for commercial vehicle insurance and maintain a driving record that allows insurability with AXIS insurance agency.

Salary:
Starting pay is $85,196.80 (Base Pay $75,004.80 + Locale Diff $5,200.00) – $92,081.60 per year which includes a $5,200.00 local differential for our Durango worksite, and considers preferred experience and certification as described above. This position is eligible for a 24/7 shift stipend of $10,000.
