Systems Administrator II

Agile Space Industries is seeking a Systems Administrator II onsite in Durango, CO. The Systems Administrator II is responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing the company’s on‑premises and cloud‑based systems and core network infrastructure. This role supports engineering, manufacturing, and administrative environments, ensuring high availability, strong cybersecurity posture, and CMMC certification readiness in alignment with aerospace and defense regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technical expert who thrives in fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environments and is comfortable supporting both systems and foundational routing/switching infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Manage virtualization platforms (Hyper‑V) and virtual machine life cycles.
  • Maintain storage systems, file servers, permissions, and system hardening baselines.
  • Oversee backup and disaster recovery systems.
  • Support CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 readiness through secure configuration management, access control enforcement, logging, patching, and system documentation.
  • Assist with implementation and ongoing maintenance of security controls required for CMMC audits, including evidence collection and technical remediation.
  • Administer user identity and access management in Active Directory and Azure/Entra .
  • Support and troubleshoot core network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, VLANs, routing, VPNs, and network segmentation.
  • Collaborate with network and security stakeholders on firewall rules, site connectivity, and secure network design.
  • Monitor system and network performance, availability, and security baselines.
  • Act as Tier‑3 escalation for complex systems and network issues.
  • Participate in IT projects such as server upgrades, network improvements, new site deployments, and system migrations.
  • Document procedures, diagrams, network topology, and runbooks; maintain accurate IT records and compliance artifacts.
Requirements
  • 4–6+ years of professional experience in systems administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, and core infrastructure services.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms and storage systems.
  • Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery technologies.
  • Working knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, and firewall concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities across systems and network layers.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra , conditional access, and MFA enforcement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Aerospace, defense, or manufacturing IT experience.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting environments subject to CMMC, NIST 800‑171, DFARS, or ITAR requirements.
  • Power Shell or other scripting experience.
  • Experience supporting CAD, engineering tools, or PLM systems.
  • Experience with enterprise switching, firewalls, or network monitoring tools.
  • Relevant certifications (Security+, Azure Administrator, Network+, CCNA, Fortinet NSE).
  • Experience with Linux systems (Ubuntu, Rocky, or similar).
Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
