Job Summary
This is a full‑time, overnight position. The RN, under the direction of the Department Manager or Supervisor, assesses, plans, organizes, and evaluates all aspects of patient care for an assigned unit and its patients.

Hourly Rate

$34.14–$54.00 (hourly rate does not include overtime or bonuses which are not guaranteed)

Essential Job Functions
  • Utilizes the nursing process to provide quality patient care according to established standards of care, which includes planning, implementing, evaluating, and adjusting the plan of care, and discharge planning based on expected patient outcomes.
  • Admits, transfers, and discharges patients.
  • Completes ongoing patient assessment and documents according to policy.
  • Completes a nursing assessment as appropriate for the patient’s condition and within established time frames.
  • Develops a patient plan of care to include patient problems, goals, evaluations, and interventions.
  • Reports symptoms and significant changes in the patient’s condition to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Assesses, collaborates, and coordinates the patient’s discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other members of the care team.
  • Demonstrates appropriate application of age‑specific standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines in caring for child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Collaborates and works cooperatively with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team in formal and informal teaching of patients and/or family about the disease process, wellness promotion plan, and discharge planning.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of and relevance to research in nursing. Evaluates practices to identify areas for improvement or opportunities for research.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education
    :
    Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
  • Certification, Licensure
    :
    Current state license as a registered nurse; current CPR certification; ACLS, PALS, or TNCC certifications per policy.
  • Experience, Training, Knowledge
    :
    Previous experience as an RN in a related care area is preferred.
Physical Requirements

Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to fifty (50) pounds; stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; standing and walking more than five (5) hours per day; visual acuity in order to correctly distinguish skin tone variations, evidence of IV infiltration, infection, read telemetry, blood pressure gauges, etc.; audio acuity in order to correctly distinguish various body sounds, e.g., respirations, heart sounds, bowel sounds, and sounds made by equipment indicating dangerous or improper operation.

Conditions / Environmental Exposures

Environmental hazards such as chemicals, solvents, needles, needle containers, sharps, blood, body fluids, various infectious or communicable diseases, infectious medical waste, radiation, and/or radioactive materials and/or radioactive waste, and proximity to moving mechanical parts. Protective clothing/equipment may be necessary.

Immunization Requirements
  • Hepatitis B – Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Hepatitis B or three doses of the Hep B vaccine at appropriate intervals.
  • Influenza – Documentation of current seasonal flu vaccine (mandatory from November 1st through March 31st each year).
  • Measles, Mumps, and Rubella – Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to MMR or two doses of MMR vaccination.
  • Varicella – Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Varicella or two doses of Varicella vaccine.
  • Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) – Documented proof of immunization.
  • Tuberculosis Screening – Documentation of a two‑step TB skin test within the past year or lab verification of a negative TB Gold or T‑Spot tuberculin test within the past six months.
  • Vaccine records or evidence of immunity are required prior to the first day of scheduled work.
