Southwest Midwives is a private, midwife-owned practice in beautiful Southwest Colorado. We attend births at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, including waterbirth and VBACs. The right candidate will feel comfortable in a rural setting (no 24-hour in house anesthesia or OBGYN), have excellent time management and communication skills, and work well as part of a small team. Experienced midwives preferred, but we would consider a new graduate for a fellowship position.
Overview- Join our group of three full time and two part time midwives delivering between 200-250 clients annually.
- Opportunity to care for women through full scope of practice providing evidence based care and informed decision making to both low and moderate risk pregnancies.
- First assist training upon hire.
- Supportive environment with other experienced midwives and strong collaborative relationship with our OBGYN group.
- Rotating call schedule with great work-life balance. Shared 1:4 call. Typical week schedule is one 24 hour call shift and one 8 hour clinic day. Example schedule can be provided. Call can be taken from home when there are no active labor patients at the Family Birth Center.
- Proudly serving individualized care to a range of clients from various socioeconomic, racial, religious and family backgrounds in a rural hospital setting.
- Base salary depending on experience.
- Quarterly bonuses based on joint practice productivity (no RVUS) and overall performance.
- Opportunities for additional hourly pay as desired.

- MSN in Midwifery
- Certified as CNM by AMCB
