Job TitleRN (Registered Nurse) – NICU

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM) | Block Scheduling | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care in a Level II NICU setting with up to 8 beds, following AWHONN acuity standards with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
- Attend deliveries and provide care for postpartum mothers and well babies, including couplet assignments at a 1:3 ratio per AWHONN standards
- Manage common NICU diagnoses including TTN, RDS, feeder growers, hyperbilirubinemia, and hypoglycemia
- Operate and monitor respiratory equipment including vents, BCPAP, and HHFNC; manage general IV fluids such as TPN and dextrose; coordinate transport to tertiary facilities when higher-level care is required
- Participate in call and standby rotation; one mandatory call shift expected approximately every 12 weeks
- Float as helping hands to other departments per hospital policy, including the family birth center
- Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado
- BLS certification required
- STABLE certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Ability to manage couplet care assignments (postpartum mother and newborn) per AWHONN standards
- Must be present in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; driver's license must be submitted
- Prior Level II NICU experience strongly preferred
- Experience with respiratory support equipment including vents, BCPAP, and HHFNC
- Familiarity with AWHONN acuity-based staffing standards
- Experience in a combined NICU/Nursery/Postpartum (LDRP) care environment
- Work in a collaborative unit supported by NNPs available 24/7 and neonatology accessible via telehealth, with nurse aides as part of the care team
- Opportunity to practice in a dynamic Level II NICU environment with a structured block schedule and defined weekend and holiday expectations
