Flagger - Seasonal

Duties include:

traffic control, installation and repair of traffic control devices. Current CO Flagger certificate preferred and valid Driver's License.

• Place and remove traffic counters.
• Operate light equipment including power broom and related equipment.
• Check and report damage on county roads and road signs.
• Assist with road striping; drive pilot car; clean and refill the striper as needed.
• Replace old signs, make signs, cut posts, attach signs, and install signs.
• Provide information to motoring and non‑motoring public regarding detours and general road construction.
• Provide clear driver guidance to the public, including operation of a pilot vehicle.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

High School diploma or GED; or a combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

• Valid Driver's License
• Colorado Department of Transportation or ATSSA Flagger Certificate

• Traffic safety/construction work zones.
• All applicable safety rules and regulations for operation of light construction equipment.
• Safe use of a variety of hand tools used in the construction and maintenance of roads and road signs.

• Communicating clearly and effectively, orally and in writing.
• Operation, maintenance, and performance of routine repairs of assigned equipment.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and so forth.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to safely operate all assigned equipment.

May be required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds during job duties.

Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
