This position will be responsible for preparing, researching, and facilitating daily accounting transactions for First United Bank Mortgage Division.
** MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
*** Perform reconciliation of cash accounts daily.
* Prepare and post required journal entries to the general ledger.
* Perform reconciliation of general ledger accounts on a timely basis.
* Collaborate with Loan Servicing/Investor Accounting personnel to assure timely identification and correction of reconciling items.
* Provide accurate and timely reporting to management for bank account reconciliation activity.
** ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Performs other duties as requested by Executive Management or Supervisor.
* Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
* Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
* Dresses professionally.
* Recommends to supervisor possible methods to improve department.

** Education and Work Experience
*** Bachelor’s degree in accounting or comparable working experience.
* Working experience in accounting preferred, but not required.
** Technical/Functional Competencies
*** Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
