Job Title

Purpose:

To remove barriers to success for Special Population Students expanding opportunities for employment and economic self-sufficiency.

Job Duties:

• Develop Information Documents that include mission, purpose, and benefits of Work-Based Learning for Employers
• Develop Information Documents that include mission, purpose, and benefits for students
• Develop partnerships with area businesses to provide approved worksites for students
• Engage students with area businesses by providing coaching, feedback, and demonstration of skill development tasks
• Participate in the process of matching individuals to employment or vocational opportunities
• Meet with employers to develop potential work opportunities
• Ensure students are appropriately groomed and attired for employment of task assignment
• Provide constructive feedback to students regarding plan goals, community employer expectations, and development of skills to obtain and maintain competitive employment
• Deliver work adjustment training to assist employed students to improve work skills, work behaviors, interpersonal skills, and ethics to maintain employment
• Promote communication with community contacts, community work site co-workers, local agencies, and state offices
• Assist in accurate completion of required documentation for DRS reimbursement

Qualifications:

• College Degree in Education preferred
• Work Experience Required
• Valid Driver's License in good standing required
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Reliable, responsible, and willing to help others
• Ability to work with students with disabilities
• Good communication skills
