Job DescriptionPurpose: To remove barriers to success for Special Population Students expanding opportunities for employment and economic self-sufficiency.
Job Duties- Develop Information Documents that include mission, purpose, and benefits of Work-Based Learning for Employers
- Develop Information Documents that include mission, purpose, and benefits for students
- Develop partnerships with area businesses to provide approved worksites for students
- Engage students with area businesses by providing coaching, feedback, and demonstration of skill development tasks
- Participate in the process of matching individuals to employment or vocational opportunities
- Meet with employers to develop potential work opportunities
- Ensure students are appropriately groomed and attired for employment of task assignment
- Provide constructive feedback to students regarding plan goals, community employer expectations, and development of skills to obtain and maintain competitive employment
- Deliver work adjustment training to assist employed students to improve work skills, work behaviors, interpersonal skills, and ethics to maintain employment
- Promote communication with community contacts, community work site co-workers, local agencies, and state offices
- Assist in accurate completion of required documentation for DRS reimbursement
- College Degree in Education preferred
- Work Experience Required
- Valid Driver's License in good standing required
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Reliable, responsible, and willing to help others
- Ability to work with students with disabilities
- Good communication skills
