Position Summary
The Substitute Teacher at Victory Life Academy provides continuity in the classroom by maintaining a productive and Christ-centered learning environment in the absence of the regular teacher. This role involves implementing lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and supporting student learning while upholding the values and standards of the school.
Instruction & Classroom Support- Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular teacher
- Deliver instructional activities that support ongoing learning objectives
- Maintain a structured and engaging classroom environment
- Utilize available resources and technology to support instruction
- Establish and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning
- Enforce classroom rules and school policies consistently
- Manage student behavior in accordance with school expectations
- Maintain discipline while demonstrating patience, fairness, and respect
- Supervise students throughout the school day, including transitions and assigned duties
- Encourage student participation and engagement in learning activities
- Provide assistance to students as needed to support understanding and completion of assignments
- Communicate effectively with school staff regarding classroom activities and any concerns
- Provide a summary of the day’s activities, student progress, and any incidents to the regular teacher
- Report any significant behavioral or academic concerns to administration
- Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Support the overall mission and values of Victory Life Academy
- Participate in school activities as appropriate during assignment periods
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in a variety of classroom settings
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to quickly build rapport with students
- Commitment to maintaining a positive and respectful learning environment
