Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM | Pay Rate: $14.86 Hourly

Job Purpose or Objective(s): As a Special Needs Assistant, you will assist children with a disability and developmental delay in every aspect of daily care. You will report to the Center Supervisor.

Primary Tasks:

Monitor children's activity to always ensure safety.

Assist children with personal care and hygiene care.

Assist children with feeding and teaching self-help skills.

Assist teaching staff in implementing curriculum and individualized goals for the child with a disability to promote growth and learning in all developmental areas.

Promote communication, play and socialization between a child with a disability and other children in the classroom.

Assist children with gross motor activities such as grasping, holding objects, posture, crawling, walking, and running; assist children with fine motor activities such as playing with toys, cutting materials, or drawing.

Work with individual children and in small groups.

Attend IFSP & IEP meetings, when needed.

Administer Medication when needed.

Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

· Willing to obtain a Paraprofessional Certification or Specialized work-related credential

· Some prior experience working with children that have a special need
