Salary for Attendants:

In Oklahoma this position is titled Attendant. It is the same work most people know as caregiving. We are a licensed Oklahoma home care agency, and our Durant office serves Durant, Colbert, and Calera.

You do not need to be a certified nurse aide. Our supervising registered nurse writes your training plan and you demonstrate each skill to that nurse before you work on your own. After that, our nurse visits you in the client's home at least every three months, and sooner if a client's condition changes significantly.

Responsibilities and Duties of Attendants:

In this role, you will have the chance to perform personal care activities that assist the client with activities of daily living, which include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting with transferring/moving client from place to place throughout their home, along with positioning and support with walking

  • Bathing/Showering/Dressing/Shaving, plus grooming, oral care, and skin care

  • Assisting with toileting and incontinence care

  • Performing housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom

  • Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions and the client's diet and preferences, and helping with eating when needed

  • Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments, and shopping for groceries, using your own insured vehicle

  • Medication reminders for medications the client takes on their own

  • Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises

  • Dementia care

  • Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.

  • Documenting your care in our electronic record and clocking in and out from your phone

  • Noticing and reporting changes in a client's condition or home to the office right away

Qualifications and Skills of Attendants:
  • 18 years or older and legally eligible to work in the United States

  • High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred

  • Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs without assistance and assist with client transfers; comfortable with prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
