Position Summary:
As a Technician, Refrigeration/HVAC, you will ensure the optimal operation and maintenance of HVACR systems by performing inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance in compliance with industry regulations and company policies. This role involves managing equipment resources, coordinating with stakeholders, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and sustainability. You will apply technical expertise to uphold safety and environmental standards while contributing to efficient facility operations and cost management.

About the team:
The Facility Services team ensures reliable operation and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems across Walmart locations. They manage equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. Collaborating with management and service providers, the team prioritizes tasks to meet business needs efficiently. Using technical expertise, they troubleshoot issues while maintaining accurate records and inventory. Committed to integrity, clear communication, and operational excellence, the team fosters a dependable environment that supports Walmart's mission to deliver quality service and value to customers.
What you'll do:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulations.
- Manage refrigerant levels, parts inventory, and procurement to support maintenance and repair activities efficiently.
- Compile and report budget information, submit warranty claims, and conduct price comparisons for HVACR parts and services.
- Perform inspections and repairs to meet federal, state, and local HVACR industry standards, including safety and environmental guidelines.
- Collaborate with management, coworkers, and external partners to prioritize tasks and improve HVACR operations.
- Complete required documentation such as work orders, refrigerant logs, and expense reports accurately.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Valid HVAC and EPA 608 Technician certifications demonstrating technical proficiency.
- Strong knowledge of refrigerant handling, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to manage inventory, track parts usage, and coordinate with suppliers and contractors.
- Skilled in interpreting HVACR policies, building codes, and environmental guidelines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Commitment to safety, integrity, and adherence to company policies and industry standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Vocational or Technical Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) certification and 2 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls OR 4 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field. Type I/Type II Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling.
