Technician, General Facilities Maintenance
The (USA) Technician, General Facilities Maintenance is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves diagnosing issues, conducting repairs across multiple trades, managing work orders, and coordinating with contractors while adhering to regulatory standards. The technician supports continuous improvement efforts by applying expertise to maintenance processes, ensuring quality outcomes, and contributing to a safe and efficient environment that aligns with organizational goals and operational excellence.
About the team:
The Facility Services team ensures the efficient operation and upkeep of HVAC and refrigeration systems across Walmart locations. They perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance while collaborating with management and service providers to prioritize tasks. Utilizing technical expertise, the team troubleshoots equipment issues and maintains accurate records and inventory. Committed to integrity, clear communication, and operational excellence, they create a reliable environment that supports Walmart's mission to deliver quality service and value to customers consistently.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures following established schedules and guidelines.
- Inspect, clean, and repair facilities equipment, documenting signs of wear and recommending repairs or replacements to prevent future issues.
- Conduct major and minor repairs using multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, diagnosing problems with blueprints and repair manuals.
- Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and warranty claims while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in performing preventive maintenance and facility repair to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics and repairs, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues using technical manuals and blueprints.
- Proficient in managing maintenance schedules, work orders, and contractor coordination while adhering to OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Ability to document maintenance activities accurately and recommend repair or replacement needs to prevent future issues.
- Strong knowledge of multiple craft skills including plumbing, carpentry, and material handling equipment maintenance.
- Commitment to quality workmanship and compliance with federal, state, and local safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications... Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications. Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade or 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
Valid Driver's License. Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
