Duties & Responsibilities
- Answer all incoming calls promptly and professionally (within 5 rings / 20 seconds)
- Transfer calls accurately to the correct departments or individuals
- Take and relay detailed messages via email or Teams when employees are unavailable
- Assist with dialling and transferring international calls
- Maintain an updated list of staff extensions, new joiners, leavers, and emergency contacts
- Assist other departments with reasonable ad hoc tasks as required
- Ensure compliance with TFS House Rules and SHEQ standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 18001)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional telephone etiquette
- Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and manage high call volumes
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Access)
- Matric / Grade 12
- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar switchboard or administrative role
- Customer service experience and exposure to a busy electronic switchboard
