Core Purpose of the Role
To conceptualise, design, and deliver high-quality Point of Purchase (POP) solutions in line with client specifications and approved briefs from Account Executives. The role requires ownership of design execution within the Symmetry workflow environment, ensuring all work meets required quality, technical, and production standards.
The Senior Graphic Designer applies creative, conceptual, and technical expertise alongside an understanding of customer behaviour, marketing strategy, materials, and manufacturing processes to develop effective, competitive retail design solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesConceptualise and produce POP design solutions from brief through to final artwork
Interpret and implement creative briefs and revisions accurately and efficiently
Develop concepts through ideation, rough sketching, research, and reference gathering
Translate concepts into technically sound, production-ready designs
Apply appropriate manufacturing methods, materials, and technologies within designs
Compile clear, professional client presentations
Collaborate closely with Account Executives, Creative Directors, Art Directors, and structural designers
Conduct quality checks on artwork and prototypes prior to presentation or production
Prepare final artwork for repro, including layout and electronic preparation
Maintain organised and compliant file management within the Symmetry system
Add value to client presentations through innovative and commercially relevant creative thinking
Remain accessible to team members for design input, collaboration, and problem-solving
Design execution aligned to briefs, timelines, and budgets
Quality and consistency of creative output
Effective collaboration with internal stakeholders
Accuracy, attention to detail, and error reduction
Technical proficiency and efficient use of design software
Compliance with Symmetry systems and design processes
Productivity, time management, and billable-hour accountability

Qualifications:
A tertiary qualification in Graphic Design, Art, or a related field (certificate, diploma, or degree preferred), or equivalent relevant industry experience.
Experience:
5–10+ years professional graphic design experience
Proven experience in POP, retail, 3D, or production-aware design
Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, 3D applications, and presentation tools (Microsoft Office / Keynote)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong performance in deadline-driven and high-pressure environments
Commercially minded, solutions-oriented approach
High attention to detail and quality standards
Self-motivated, positive, and proactive attitude
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Team player with a willingness to share knowledge and learn
