Financial Manager Job Durban area,South Africa,Finance & Banking

Review and approve non routine transactions (depreciation, impairments, provisions, finance costs/income, discounting, management fees, administration fees etc.).
Enforce thorough review and timeous settlement of inter-company trade accounts, loan accounts, shareholder loans, bank loans, bank facilities, creditors, SARS (Income Tax, PAYE, VAT) in line with agreed payment terms.
Drive continuous improvement in supplier terms.
Identification of control weakness, designing of internal controls and implementation thereof.
Review and approve adequate reassessment of useful lives, depreciation methods and residual values for tangible and intangible assets quarterly.
Review and approval of the profit and loss on asset disposals.
Review and approval of stock count variances.
Review and approval of petty cash expenses, count variances and required top up.
Review procurement within the entities and ensure we meet the required targets. Ensure that updated BEE Certificates are kept on file for audit purposes.
Remaining up to date with foreign country tax, reserve bank and other compliance regulations. Required to work closely with the compliance team to prepare all necessary agreements.
Continuous review of foreign currency exchange rates and to ensure that the group are utilizing the most beneficial rate for the business.
Support the CFO and Group FM with specific projects and reports and data extractions.
Approve capex, expenses, and disposals within your authoritative limits.
Ensure that administration and management fees within the group are relevant and reflective of the time/effort involved in rendering intergroup services.
Review Ts and Cs of credit applications (supplier and debtor credit applications).
Ordering forex for business travel and ensuring all AODs are signed by the respective team members.
Working with other Financial Managers on group wide initiatives and processes to align.
Review of the group betting taxes.
Review and oversight of all new products/platforms.
Review of monthly management accounts including analysis/commentary.
Review of the annual financial statements, tax computations and related workings.
Review of high-risk balance sheet reconciliations and overall monthly working paper files.

Qualifications and experience:

Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
Completed SAICA articles.
Post articles experience outside of an Auditing or Accounting Firm, must have experience within other industries, ideally 2 - 4 years.
2 - 3 years experience in managing a team
Compliance with relevant legislation and professional standards.
