Are you a commercially minded CA(SA) with strong FMCG experience and a passion for driving financial performance through strategic insight?

As the Financial Manager:
Commercial, you will play a pivotal role in steering the financial health of our Commercial division. This is more than just a numbers role – you'll provide financial insights that shape pricing strategies, evaluate new business opportunities, optimise product profitability, and support strategic decision‑making across sales and marketing. You’ll analyse sales trends, track key KPIs (including revenue growth and ROI), and ensure robust financial planning and reporting aligned with our business goals.

This is your chance to work closely with top decision‑makers in a fast‑paced and high‑performance environment. You’ll have direct influence on the commercial direction of the business and the opportunity to innovate through financial strategy.

Duties
  • Partner with the Commercial team to drive financial performance and cost efficiencies
  • Analyse sales data weekly, monthly, and annually, identifying key trends
  • Calculate and analyse profitability per SKU and across product lines
  • Prepare monthly income statements and variance reports
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term planning for the Commercial division
  • Leverage data analytics to optimise financial strategies
  • Collaborate with marketing to align financial performance with market trends
  • Continuously drive improvements in financial systems and processes
Qualifications
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • BCom Accounting
  • BCom Honours / CTA
  • CA(SA) / CIMA
Experience
  • CA(SA) qualification is essential
  • 810 years' experience in finance
  • Experience in the FMCG sector (essential)
  • Syspro or similar ERP experience (advantageous)

  • Strong Financial Acumen – Deep understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement
  • Leadership & Team Management – Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate effectively across departments
  • Commercial Insight – Sharp business judgement with a strong grasp of sales, marketing, and product profitability
  • Analytical Thinking – Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify actionable insights
  • Problem‑Solving – Proactive in identifying issues and implementing practical, results‑oriented solutions
  • Communication – Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills, especially when engaging with non‑financial stakeholders
  • Interpersonal Skills – Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the business
  • Attention to Detail – High level of accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of financial reporting and analysis
  • Time Management – Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Technical Proficiency – Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of ERP systems (Syspro experience advantageous)
