The Financial Reconciliation Manager is responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial reconciliations across the Group. The role ensures that all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled, exceptions are resolved timeously, and reconciliation processes meet internal control, audit, and regulatory standards.

Reconciliation Ownership and Oversight (Core Function)
- Oversee and review all balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Ensure all reconciliations are completed monthly, accurately, and within close deadlines.
- Perform or supervise monthly reconciliations, including but not limited to:
- Bank reconciliations
- Accounts receivable reconciliations
- Accounts payable reconciliations
- Cash, loan, and interest reconciliations
- Intercompany and related‑party reconciliations
- Prepayments, accruals and suspense accounts
- Fixed asset registers
- Ensure reconciliations are independently reviewed and compliant with internal policies.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items, discrepancies, and variances promptly.
- Ensure reconciling differences are supported, aged, tracked, and cleared timeously.
- Perform root‑cause analysis on recurring reconciliation issues.
- Escalate material or unresolved issues to the CFOs and Senior Finance.
- Maintain reconciliation schedules and documentation for audit and control purposes.
- Maintain trackers of balance sheet reconciliations across the group and escalate deadlines that have not been met in submitting the reconciliations.
- Lead reconciliation process optimization and automation on a pervasive basis throughout the Group.
- In conjunction with the Senior Financial Managers, set monthly deadlines for all team members for management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT etc.
- Review of the annual financial statements, tax computations and related workings.
- Liaison with external auditors during interim and year end audit to ensure all queries are responded to.
- Liaise with the various departments and regional/operational managers to ensure efficient reporting.
- Enforce thorough review and timeous settlement of inter-company trade accounts, loan accounts, shareholder loans, bank loans, bank facilities, creditors, SARS (Income Tax, PAYE, VAT) in line with agreed payment terms.
