Role purpose:To deliver financial excellence across the Videovision Group of companies.
Key responsibilitiesThe Finance Manager is responsible for leading and managing the group's finance function, including:
- Financial planning and governance:Supporting business strategy through budgets, financial planning, governance, and finance team alignment.
- Funding management:Working with banks, government agencies, and consultants to secure facilities, grants, or cost-effective funding.
- Financial reporting:Managing cash-flow forecasts, budget tracking, monthly management accounts, dashboards, and finance reports for the Group CFO/CEO.
- Annual audits:Managing audit engagements, year-end reconciliations, audit entries, valuations, and audited financial statements.
- Financial integrity:Implementing internal controls, managing bank mandates, cash and asset controls, foreign exchange contracts, and data integrity.
- Risk mitigation:Overseeing group insurance, supplier performance reviews, and participation in audit/risk committees.
- Financial efficiencies:Driving strategic projects, cost-saving initiatives, feasibility studies, financial ratio optimisation, and cost-cutting measures.
- Statutory and legal compliance:Managing rental agreements, SLAs/contracts, intellectual property renewals, BBBEE verification, tax, VAT, and broader compliance requirements.
- Financial authorisations:Approving key payments, payroll, rental rolls, bank guarantees, and co-releasing bank payments.
- Business growth and diversification:Identifying investment opportunities, developing new ventures, and evaluating potential mergers and acquisitions.
The role is measured against delivery of:
- Budget vs actual performance
- Cash-flow forecasting
Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting - Audit readiness and clean audit outcomes
- SLA management
- Tax and legislative compliance
The role requires strong personal, leadership, and technical competencies, including:
- High performance and delivery focus
- Flexibility, resilience, and adaptability
- Strong planning, organisation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing ability
- Leadership and people management skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Pastel, banking, taxation, VAT, financial reporting, cost accounting, forex, commercial processes, and compliance
The Finance Manager should have:
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or economics
- Preferably be a Chartered Accountant
- At least 5 years' combined audit and financial management experience
- Experience in a medium to large trading business
- Senior leadership team experience
- Strong knowledge of financial processes, audit, KPIs, reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, business development, and efficiency projects
- Reports to the Group CFO
- Direct reports include:
- Finance team of 2
- Permanent or contract, depending on the candidate
