The Paraplanner role is a full-time, on-site position based in Durban. The Paraplanner will support financial planners by gathering client information, conducting research and analysis on financial products and investment options, and preparing financial plans and recommendations. Day-to-day tasks include compiling detailed reports, creating and updating planning tools and documentation, and ensuring all advice and plans comply with regulatory and internal standards.
The role involves liaising with financial planners and administrative staff to maintain accurate records, prepare meeting packs, and follow up on client instructions. The Paraplanner will contribute to an efficient advisory process, enabling financial planners to focus on client engagement and strategic advice.
- Candidates should possess strong Financial Planning and Finance skills, with a solid understanding of personal financial solutions and regulatory requirements.
- Candidates should possess robust Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, assess client needs, and evaluate investment options.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Investments, including asset classes, risk profiling, and portfolio construction principles.
- Candidates should possess clear and professional Report Writing abilities to prepare financial plans, summaries, and supporting documentation.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Financial Planning, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is beneficial.
- Progress toward or completion of recognised financial planning certifications (e.g., CFP or equivalent) is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and proficiency in MS Office and financial planning software are beneficial.
- Effective communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team, and commitment to ethical and client-focused service are important.
