ABOUT THIS ROLE
Are you a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator with strong Sage 300 experience and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment?
A well-established organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to take full responsibility for the weekly wage payroll and monthly learner payroll processes. This role is critical to business operations and plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and stability across the workforce.
This position is ideal for someone who is highly organised, reliable, and comfortable working with large employee volumes and strict payroll deadlines.
WHAT YOU WILL DO Weekly & Monthly Payroll Processing- Process weekly wage payroll end-to-end on Sage 300
- Maintain and process the monthly learner payroll
- Extract and reconcile hours from time & attendance systems
- Review payroll reports and perform sense checks for discrepancies
- Ensure accurate processing of leave types and allowances
- Manage new engagements, exits, job changes, and backpay calculations
- Perform payroll, headcount, hours, and net pay reconciliations
- Print and distribute payslips and support payment uploads
- Prepare payroll variance, overtime, and leave reports
- Maintain accurate payroll records for audit purposes
- Reconcile third-party payroll deductions and benefits
- Assist finance with balance sheet and payroll-related reconciliations
- Support statutory reporting and submissions
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation and payroll standards
- Maintain accurate employee banking and payroll records
- Manage ESS administration and employee payroll documentation
- Prepare employment confirmations, certificates of service, and IRP5s
- Support annual increases, bulk updates, and payroll adjustments
- Matric (essential)
- Certificate in Sage 300 or similar payroll qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ payroll experience using Sage 300
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and processes
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- High attention to detail and strong analytical ability
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Reliable, accountable, and able to work independently
