ABOUT THIS ROLE
Are you a senior agency leader with a proven track record in managing large client portfolios, leading high-performing teams, and driving strategic growth?
A well established, advertising agency environment is seeking an experienced Business Unit Director to take ownership of a key business unit, manage executive-level client relationships, and lead multiple teams across integrated campaigns.
This role is ideal for a commercially astute, solutions-focused leader who understands how to balance strategy, creativity, performance, and financial management while delivering exceptional client outcomes.
WHAT YOU WILL DOClient & Relationship Leadership
- Act as the key point of contact for executive-level client relationships
- Present confidently at ExCo and senior client forums while remaining hands‑on when required
- Drive organic growth through client retention and business extensions
- Build trusted partnerships with functional teams delivering client campaigns
- Foster integration across agency disciplines to ensure cohesive delivery
- Advocate agency mission, culture, confidentiality, and operational standards
Strategic & Business Leadership
- Demonstrate strong strategic and commercial acumen internally and with clients
- Develop and refine integrated communication strategies across Digital, ATL, and BTL
- Combine understanding of client businesses with the TTL and digital media landscape
- Drive innovative solutions and ideas to address client marketing challenges
- Apply digital performance marketing insight and optimisation workflows
- Proactively collaborate with internal departments on behalf of clients
Financial & Operational Management
- Manage client budgets effectively and efficiently
- Oversee and control processes
- Deliver accurate reporting to senior management (monthly Manco reporting)
- Plan and manage workflow across multiple teams and a broad client portfolio
- 10–12 years’ experience at a senior level within an agency environment
- Proven experience managing a broad portfolio of clients
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple teams
- Full understanding of Digital, ATL, BTL, and integrated media channels
- Digital performance marketing experience with knowledge of creative optimisation tools
- Strong strategic, commercial, and business acumen
- Excellent executive‑level communication and presentation skills
- Self‑starter with a proactive, solutions‑driven mindset
