Pastry Chef – Luxury Safari Lodge – Kwa Zulu-Natal
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef to join the pre-opening team of a brand new five-star safari lodge. The successful candidate will lead the pastry section, creating exceptional pastries, breads and desserts for restaurant service, private dining and special events, delivering world-class presentation and flavour for international guests.
Salary: R35,000 DOE
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the pastry section and manage daily operations
• Create and present high-quality pastries, breads and desserts
• Develop creative and seasonal menu offerings
• Ensure consistency, plating and luxury standards are maintained
• Manage stock, inventory and monitor food costs
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
Requirements:
• Strong expertise in pastry and baking techniques
• Experience in creative menu development and seasonal innovation
• Knowledge of five-star plating and consistency standards
• Understanding of stock control and food cost management
• Experience in luxury lodge or high-end hospitality environments
• Ability to work in a dynamic, high-pressure luxury environment with precision and creativity
