In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and building Alcon Surgical Disposable and IOL market shares. You will optimize the relationship between Alcon and ophthalmologists, as well as all other persons involved who advise or use Alcon products.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute account plans to maintain and enhance Alcon’s market share within the Surgical Disposable and IOL segment, regularly engaging with existing accounts to build strong lasting relationships and understand their needs and challenges.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the ophthalmology market, proactively seeking potential clients and establishing connections with key decision‑makers to promote Alcon products and services.
- Implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and maximize sales growth, analyzing market trends, competitor activities and customer preferences to adapt and refine strategies for better performance.
- Provide product demonstrations, training sessions and educational materials to clients and healthcare professionals to showcase the benefits and features of Alcon products, ensuring that customers are well‑informed about product updates and advancements.
- Cultivate strong relationships with ophthalmologists and other medical professionals involved in the decision‑making process for Alcon products, understanding their unique needs and preferences to tailor solutions that meet their requirements.
- Actively participate in conferences, seminars and industry events to promote Alcon products and create brand awareness, collaborating with marketing teams to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
- Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify new opportunities and potential growth areas, staying informed about industry trends and advancements in ophthalmic technology.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date sales records, customer profiles and activity reports, preparing regular sales forecasts and performance reports for management review.
- Provide exceptional post‑sales support to ensure customer satisfaction and address any issues or concerns promptly, collaborating with other divisions of business—including Surgical Equipment Manager, Advanced Technology Manager, CS support and TS Team—to resolve territory‑related challenges and opportunities.
- Education/Background:
Health sciences bachelor’s degree or optometrist. - Experience:
Minimum 3 years in surgical sales field. - Language:
Good level of English, Afrikaans a plus. - Strong self‑motivation, teamwork, problem‑solving, organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Valid driver’s licence, willing to travel 10%.
