About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and certified Commercial Vehicle Technician to join their busy workshop in Durban . This role is essential for maintaining the fleet's operational readiness and ensuring the safety and reliability of commercial vehicles. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing routine maintenance on a variety of trucks and heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with a strong technical aptitude and a commitment to high-quality workmanship in the automotive and transportation sector of Kwa Zulu-Natal .
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in commercial vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance services as per manufacturer specifications and company schedules.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately identify problems and required repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of all inspections, maintenance, and repair work performed.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards for vehicle maintenance .
- Collaborate with the parts department to order necessary components and manage inventory.
- Proven experience as a Commercial Vehicle Technician or Heavy Duty Mechanic.
- Relevant trade certification (e.g., NQF Level 3 or equivalent) in automotive or diesel mechanics.
- Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency with specialized repair tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of various commercial vehicle makes and models.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a workshop environment.
- Valid driver's license;
Code 14 preferred but not essential for this role.
