Apprentice Boilermaker

Our client is looking for eager candidates to join as an Apprentice Boilermaker in Durban . This is a comprehensive apprenticeship designed to train you in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal structures and vessels. You will develop skills in welding, cutting, shaping, and fitting metal components under the supervision of experienced boilermakers. This role offers a solid foundation for a career in manufacturing, construction, and heavy industry, providing hands-on experience with large-scale projects in the vibrant industrial landscape of Durban .

• Assist with the fabrication and assembly of metal structures, pressure vessels, and tanks according to specifications.
• Learn and apply various welding techniques (e.g., ARC, MIG, TIG) under expert supervision.
• Operate metalworking machinery such as shears, presses, and grinders.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Perform cutting, shaping, and fitting of metal components with precision.
• Ensure all work complies with stringent quality control and safety standards.

• Grade 10 or higher, with Mathematics and Physical Science strongly recommended.
• A genuine interest in metalwork, fabrication, and construction trades.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work in demanding industrial environments.
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Willingness to undertake formal training and on-site practical experience.
• Team player with good communication skills.
