About this Opportunity

This position effectively operates a variety of power presses and associated equipment to manufacture metal components according to established standards and customer specifications, and completes in‑process inspection.

Responsibilities
  • Operate presses per M.O.I.'s and maintain accurate production records.
  • See the supervisor for additional assignments daily; operate multiple machines whenever possible.
  • Perform the daily P.M. checklist prior to press start‑up.
  • Verify all safety devices are activated and all guards are in place before running the press.
  • Follow established strip start procedures to minimize the risk of damage to dies and ensure strips are positioned properly prior to cycling the press.
  • Accurately inspect parts at predetermined intervals for visual and dimensional requirements following procedures established by Quality Assurance and/or Engineering.
  • Properly package and label product containers per procedures.
  • Follow procedures to ensure timely movement of parts within the facility.
  • Properly dispose of scrap in designated containers.
  • Maintain product identification and traceability by accurately completing required paperwork (Followers, Inspection Ticket, etc.).
  • Accurately enter labor hours into MES and monitor personal time and attendance weekly.
  • Support team activities.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment by following 6S standards.
  • Follow all H&M procedures and policies.
  • Use the required PPE per JHAs and Job Description. Protective footwear must comply with ASTM F2413 & F2412.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including the Idea System.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School or Technical School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • 6 to 12 months of related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to do basic math in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
