We operate two manufacturing plants with primary operations—and headquarters—centrally located in Durham, CT; our Advanced Manufacturing Center is just a few miles away in Wallingford, CT.
About this OpportunityWith this position you will work as a team member under the direction of Group Leads and other assigned trainers. Safely and effectively operate assigned assembly machinery and equipment while adhering to documented instructions and procedures. Maintain quality and productivity standards.
Responsibilities- Operate assigned assembly machines and equipment per M.O.I.’s/Work Instructions.
- Able to achieve expected production rate on assigned assembly processes while sustaining quality output.
- Perform basic gauging and visual inspections; verify gauges are correct and calibrated.
- Accurately complete production paperwork to ensure product traceability is maintained. (Followers, Inspection Retains, etc.).
- Enter labor hours in MES and monitor personal time/attendance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 6S standards.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment: Safety Glasses, etc.) per JHA’s (Job Hazard Analysis).
- Participate in basic Continuous Improvement activities.
- Follow all H&M policies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Perform all duties as assigned.
- Able to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
- High School Diploma, Technical School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- Manufacturing experience preferred, though not required.
- Ability to read & comprehend simple instructions (MOI’s, Work Instructions, Quality Bulletins, Job Followers, etc.).
- Ability to effectively communicate in one‑on‑one and small group situations with other employees.
- Ability to do basic math.
- Ability to participate in small problem‑solving groups.
- Ability to work overtime and Saturdays on an as needed basis.
