Accentuate Staffing is currently recruiting for a part-time Accounting Specialist/Bookkeeper to support a private school in Durham. The Accounting Specialist will need to understand accounting, can identify issues, and can eventually operate with limited hand holding. The school has a small staff and needs someone dependable, detail-oriented, and professional.
Responsibilities- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- Bank reconciliations
- General ledger work
- Student billing
- Supporting the Finance Director with accounting processes and system cleanup
- There is not a heavy volume of payables. Student billing is a major part of the role.
- Strong accounting/bookkeeping experience
- Quick Books experience
- Ability to understand accounting beyond basic data entry
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently after training
- Comfortable with AP, AR, bank reconciliations, GL work, and billing
- Independent school, private school, nonprofit, or small business accounting experience
- Google Suite experience
