Payroll & Accounting Specialist
Salary: $65,000+ (flexible based on experience)
Benefits: Competitive benefits package
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | 100% In-Office
Execu Source is partnering with a well-established organization seeking a Payroll & Accounting Specialist to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with experience in both payroll and accounting who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, and takes pride in delivering accurate financial and payroll support.
What You ll Do- Process full-cycle, multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Utilize ADP to process weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bonus, and off-cycle payrolls.
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax laws, garnishments, deductions, and payroll regulations.
- Audit payroll reports, calculations, carrier feeds, and system data to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare payroll-related journal entries and reconcile payroll transactions within the ERP system.
- Support accounting functions by maintaining accurate financial records related to payroll activity.
- Manage monthly benefits billing and assist with paid leave administration.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing, audits, reporting, and compliance.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll and accounting processes while helping resolve discrepancies.
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience processing multi-state payroll.
- Experience with payroll journal entries, reconciliations, or other accounting support functions.
- HRIS experience required; ADP experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll taxes, compliance, and payroll accounting principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
