This position performs work in support of human resource professionals that requires a good working knowledge of personnel procedures, guides, and precedents. Job tasks may include interviewing applicants, obtaining references, and recommending placement in a well‑defined occupation. At this level, assistants typically have a range of personal contacts within and outside the organization, in addition to handling employee‑sensitive material. Therefore, the Assistant must be tactful, discrete, and articulate.
This Assistant may be involved in identifying potential issues and grievance procedures, in addition to documenting necessary information to avoid company threat. The Person nel Assistant III may make recommendations to human resource professionals on job classification, wage rates, and employee salaries. The use of computers may be relied on heavily for organizational and reporting purposes. Advanced experience with office software packages may be needed.
This Assistant may perform some clerical work in addition to the above duties. Supervisor will review completed work against stated objectives.
This position serves as a clerical expert in independently processing the most complicated types of personnel actions, e.g., temporary employment, rehires, and dismissals. In this position, one may perform tasks beyond routine clerical such as pre‑employment drug screening and new hire orientation, responding to routine questions on policy and procedures, and/or provide reports on employee turnover or time and attendance. This assistant may be asked to evaluate and consolidate information from various sources under short deadlines, such as internal or external survey information, reporting on company employment statistics (retention, equal opportunity reporting, etc).
The Person nel Assistant II may provide guidance to lower level Personnel Assistants. This level requires extensive knowledge of various office software packages. Guidance is provided as needed. Completed written work receives close technical review from higher‑level personnel office employees. Work may be checked occasionally.
- Distribute workload and provide guidance to personnel within the TSO
- Perform primary DD214 signature authority duties
- Train and direct clerks to properly complete and check DD214s
- Train and direct alternate DD214 signature authorities
- Perform all installation level personnel processes related to mobilization and demobilization records and data management.
- Validate and sign for mobilization files.
- Update IPPS‑A and MARRS‑N databases upon receipt of deployment packets from the Garrison Support Organization S‑1.
- Ensure all approved documents pertaining to each Soldier are filed in his/her individual deployment packet and uploaded in iPERMS.
- Update ISM and prepare DD Form 214 worksheets.
- Review, verify and input all clearance data into ISM 72 hours prior to printing and distributing to allow other organizations to pre‑clear Soldiers from their systems.
- Maintain 100% accountability of all Reserve Component mobilization and demobilization records.
- Prepare, log, file and distribute orders for National Guard and Reserve deploying and demobilizing Soldiers. These orders include but not limited to extension orders, amendment revocations, attachments and releases from attachment.
- Brief incoming demobilizing Soldiers on the DD Form 214 process at their demobilization brief.
- Prepare and review DD Form 214, DD Form 220, and REFRAD orders during the demobilizing process using ISM.
- Daily distribution of DD214s, TCS Orders and REFRAD orders to Installation AG personnel.

- Must be able to operate a Personal Computer (PC) with a functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (primarily Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Windows graphical user interface) and data/web based systems required for task area performing work.
