This Administrative Specialist I/Processing Assistant IV position is part of the Salisbury Unit and is located in the Statesville Satellite Office. The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative assistance and general office support to Rehabilitation Counselors and other personnel in the Statesville satellite office, which provides vocational rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities.
Job Responsibilities- Greeting visitors and callers courteously and professionally, including contact with staff, vendors, other departments, and the public.
- Using a multi‑line phone system to answer and route calls to appropriate staff members.
- Preparing documents, maintaining spreadsheets, inputting data, and completing billing processes for assigned staff.
- Receiving applications from clients, requesting and obtaining medical/treatment records, scheduling appointments, setting up case files, filing, and creating written correspondence.
- Documenting client information, interactions, and services into the case management system throughout the rehabilitation process.
- Utilizing office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet office needs.
- Performing routine administrative and office support functions.
Salary Grade Range: $39,244 - $68,679
Recruitment Range: $39,244 - $49,000
Position is funded in part through federal funds.
Work SchedulePosition is eligible for a hybrid‑teleworking schedule to include weekly onsite work hours.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Preferred)- Knowledge of and/or experience working with persons with disabilities.
- Experience providing effective front‑line service to the public, including responding to inquiries, resolving concerns, and maintaining professionalism in fast‑paced environments.
- Experience performing routine administrative and office support functions.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with case management systems.
- Knowledge of or experience working within a team setting.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
