Manufacturing Administrative Assistant in Durham, NC
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM
Job SummaryAs an Administrative Assistant, you will handle a variety of tasks within the General Services Department, utilizing critical thinking skills to advance your career in Smart Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and adaptable in both tasks and personality.
Responsibilities- Manage the flow of products and supplies for breakrooms, conference rooms, office, and janitorial needs.
- Oversee invoice payments and the procurement process, assisting staff as required.
- Receive, unpack, and inspect supply orders for damage, and record any shortages.
- Transport received supplies to appropriate storage areas, including long-term storage, office storage, breakrooms, and conference rooms.
- Handle mail duties: pickup, sorting, delivery, preparation of outgoing mail, and signing for certified mail/parcels.
- Manage contracted janitorial staff to maintain cleanliness and adhere to 5S standards.
- Run errands and make deliveries within the office or to external vendors, providing information to staff or clients as needed.
- Maintain an inviting office environment, including plant care and assisting with holiday decor setup and teardown.
- Organize refreshments and meals for conference rooms or meeting areas as requested.
- Manage corporate housing tasks, such as handling occupant turnover and creating welcome packages for new occupants.
- Participate in special projects as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 8 hours per day.
- Capability to frequently lift and move items weighing 25 lbs or more.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- One to two years of relevant work experience.
