Position Summary
Hybrid:
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC‑Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The Executive Assistant’s (EA) primary responsibility is to provide executive support to the three Vice Deans in the School of Data and Information Sciences (SDIS) at UNC‑Chapel Hill. In this role, the EA will spend the majority of their time providing high‑level calendar and operational support to these Vice Deans. Additionally, the EA will coordinate administrative functions related to projects, ensure accurate and high‑quality assignments, requests and commitments, and manage and triage email communications for at least two of the three Vice Deans.
The EA will also work closely with other School leaders and serve as liaison between the executives and University leaders and staff. This individual will assist in aligning work, ensuring smooth exchange of information, coordinating schedules and priorities, providing independent problem solving, answering questions, providing information, and acting on behalf of the executive(s) when appropriate.
Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate’s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
