Job Summary
Blue Cross NC seeks a highly organized and proactive Senior Specialist, Administrative Assistant to support leaders and teams by managing daily workflows, coordinating meetings and departmental activities, supporting projects, preparing reports, and ensuring priorities are handled efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee leaders’ workflow—including mail, calendar, correspondence, and telephone calls; determine priorities and prepare responses without errors and in a timely manner.
- Schedule, plan, and attend meetings as necessary; support leaders and staff, including expense reporting and travel planning.
- Act as coordinator of departmental projects, following up on pending details, coordinating project team activities, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Exercise considerable discretion and independent judgment to analyze complex information requests and determine complex trends.
- Maintain distribution lists and organizational charts; coordinate departmental moves and liaise with IT services and upgrades.
- Assemble and analyze information to facilitate decision‑making; prepare special or one‑time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries from a variety of sources.
- Support departmental budget processes, including running reports, simple budget analysis, and/or budget entries.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Five or more years of experience in a related field.
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and follow‑through.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time‑management skills.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Teams, and SharePoint; advanced Excel skills including formulas and pivot tables.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a strong customer‑service focus and executive presence.
- Capable of working independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- High‑level administrative support to a VP or CFO, managing priorities, communications, and daily operations.
- Complex executive calendar management across senior leaders and key stakeholders.
- Confidential information handling and discretion.
- Executive‑ready presentation creation in PowerPoint and report production.

- Salary range: $55,370.00 – $88,592.00.
Our Hybrid Flex approach requires at least two in‑office days per week for collaboration. Remote Flex roles involve occasional in‑office visits. The exact arrangement depends on the nature of the work and distance from the Durham headquarters. Candidates from outside the local area are welcome.
