Position Overview
Readmissions Coordinator in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at North Carolina Central University. Responsible for cultivating relationships with students eligible for readmission, coordinating and accurately processing readmit applications, counseling readmitted students, and serving as a liaison among Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of the Registrar, End Zone, and Transfer Services regarding readmission procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Verbal Communication:
Present ideas clearly, concisely, and in an organized manner regarding university policies and procedures, including FERPA guidelines. - Written Communication:
Prepare accurate letters, memorandums, transcripts, and other documents for faculty, staff, and students, and draft updates to procedures as needed. - Office Technology:
Utilise Microsoft Office Suite, Imaging software, Banner and Admissions Pro, and related equipment (scanners, fax, copiers, printers). - Problem Solving:
Recognise, define, and resolve non‑standard problems using established procedures and precedents; anticipate issues and recommend solutions. - Program Knowledge:
In‑depth knowledge of readmissions and repeat grade processes, including archiving, imaging, and management of student records; update Banner Student System as required. - Information / Records Administration:
Request assistance for academic record searches and retrieval; manage records processing tasks in line with agency policies.
- Education:
High‑school diploma or equivalency and at least one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. - Technical
Skills:
Working knowledge of Student Banner or equivalent systems;
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel); processing, archiving, imaging, and management of student documents; office management. - Interpersonal:
Ability to work independently, take initiative, prioritize, analyse information, and exercise judgement, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
