Job SummaryPerform secretarial duties in support of general medical office activities to relieve medical professional personnel of clerical and administrative details and to maintain an efficient and effective operation.

Hours:
Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm
- Answer main live clinic phones - screen and refer calls
- Receive voice mail messages in timely manner with responsibility of getting messages to appropriate staff and/or call back to patients
- Assist with nursing phone triage (lab, providers, clinical care teams, patients/caregivers, scheduling hub, imaging, treatment, outside facilities, etc)
- Receive, review and route EPIC in-basket and email messages as appropriate
- Rad Onc in clinic consent process with MD, residents, nursing and therapy teams for imaging and treatment
- Assist with clerical needs- filing, copying, faxes, forms, sorting and maintaining files, generating reports for clinic opening and closing, patient census reports, FMLA, work notes, medical records
- Assist with clinic patient flow and handling wait times- coordinate with front desk staff and clinic staff to facilitate rooming, conducting customer service rounds for clinic wait times and delays
- Ordering and maintaining administrative and clinical supplies as appropriate
- Provide information and customer service to patients, visitors and staff upon request in clinic setting
- Operate as a Health Unit coordinator
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Work requires a general educational background normally equivalent to a high school education.
ExperienceWork requires two years of related medical clerical experience sufficient to acquire skills in transcribing medical terminology, office organization and communications. A completed medical secretarial program (nine months up to two years accredited program) may be substituted for equivalent experience. An optional typing speed of 50 correct words per minute may be required.
