The RoleCCR is seeking undergraduate candidates for a 12‑week, paid internship to support our Project Development team. This team manages the development of solar and storage projects, beginning with site selection and acquisition, and managing all aspects of the project’s development through its multi‑year lifecycle.
We are looking for rising seniors, who want to spend the summer learning the ins and outs of the current U.S. solar and storage landscape while supporting Cypress Creek’s growing solar and storage development platform. The Development team has a strong desire to develop the intern who joins our team, with the hope of this opportunity leading to a full‑time offer upon graduation.
Some sample projects you may work on include:
- Perform due diligence on prospective greenfield development and project acquisition opportunities, including analysis of queue positions, transmission rights, regulatory/permitting processes and development statuses.
- Support a project’s development lifecycle through internal/external team collaboration. This may include utilities, municipalities, environmental professionals, legal counsel, engineers, and external EPCs to successfully add value to development assets.
- Streamline and/or automate development team processes where potential opportunities exist.
- Support assigned team with day‑to‑day business activities.
- Must be a rising senior (currently a junior in college, and after this summer will be entering senior year).
- Demonstrated interest to work in the clean energy sector after college.
- Preferably have had one or more prior internship experience (okay if not in clean energy).
- Strong analytical, written, and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
- Creative problem‑solving.
- Ability to collaborate between multiple departments with varying priorities.
- Embracing and living by the mission and values of Cypress Creek Renewables.
The preferred location for this role is one of our offices. We have offices in Durham, NC;
Washington, DC; NYC;
Los Angeles, CA; and San Francisco, CA. Additionally, we are on a hybrid schedule 3 days per week.
The hourly rate for our undergraduate internships is $25 per hour. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
