Operations Manager – Commercial‑Scale Vaccines & Therapeutics (Durham, NC)
Day and night shift positions available. Provide direction, coaching, and technical expertise to manufacturing personnel, manage and develop a reliable operations team, and maintain product quality while minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, motivate, and manage a team to ensure reliable manufacturing process execution.
  • Assign yearly performance objectives in alignment with department and site goals.
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching to employees on work performance.
  • Lead from the floor and champion standard work to drive consistent use of best practices.
  • Help troubleshoot issues, minimize downtime, and maintain product quality.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes (e.g., cycle times, reliability).
  • Support implementation of improvements and coach team members on smaller projects.
  • Represent Operations on project teams and serve as a subject‑matter expert during audits and tours.
  • Lead and support daily meetings to facilitate information flow across the organization.
  • Escalate issues as needed to ensure appropriate support and awareness.
  • Foster a strong safety culture through coaching and prioritization.
  • Drive compliance culture, consistent quality‑driven decision making, and coaching of the team.
  • Service SAP transaction completion and manage staffing to meet customer demand while meeting budget targets.
  • Recognize opportunities for cost savings and communicate them for potential projects.
Qualifications
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience in manufacturing, technical, support, or a military role, or at least four (4) years with a Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or Engineering.
  • Experience leading a team as a supervisor/coach, or indirectly through project management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate people/resources to meet a production schedule.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule, including weekend and holiday coverage.
  • Ability to qualify and maintain gowning requirements for classified manufacturing areas.
  • Proficiency with electronic manufacturing systems (e.g., PAS‑X, SAP, Delta‑V).
  • Experience interacting with regulatory auditors on area tours and/or topic discussions.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a GMP‑regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) compliance.

Compensation

Salary range: $96,200.00 – $ (based on education, experience, and role responsibilities). Eligible for an annual bonus and long‑term incentive, if applicable.
