HoursGeneral business hours, Monday through Friday.

Program OverviewOperationalize a statewide Medicaid Plan (Children and Families Specialty Plan) to support Medicaid‑enrolled infants, children, youth, young adults, and families served by the child welfare system – ensuring seamless, integrated, and coordinated health care and access to core benefits.
Impact / Responsibilities- Develop and execute a statewide ombudsman strategy for the NC Children and Families Specialty Plan.
- Build collaborations and strategic alliances to improve understanding of local advocacy organizations, stakeholders, legislators, and providers.
- Serve as an informal information resource, communication channel, complaint handler, facilitator, consultant, and practitioner for dispute resolution.
- Seek fair and equitable solutions to member and provider problems, and recommend dispute‑resolution processes and policy changes.
- Escalate issues to health‑plan executive leadership to improve care delivery and promote effective communication between members and providers.
- Manage and coordinate development, approval, implementation, and compliance of ongoing external client‑facing programs; prepare program budgets and ensure objectives are met.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise for day‑to‑day external client‑facing business issues.
- Research applicable subject‑matter practices and stay abreast of industry trends.
- Maintain external client‑facing relationships and partner with corporate and regional business areas.
- Coordinate training related to external client‑facing programs, develop success measures, and conduct periodic assessments.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) and a minimum of 5years of external client‑facing experience in program or project management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Graduate degree preferred.
- Project management certification preferred.
- Graduate degree preferred.
