Durham Family with two boys hopes to find their new FT or PT Nanny and Household Manager JOB 221 CLOSED

Caring Family of Four in Durham have started their search for an outstanding Full-time or Part-time Nanny/Household Manager for their 7yo and 4yo little boys by the first week of January. The Family has a scheduled need of Monday 8am – 6pm, Tuesday & Wednesday 8am – 9am & 1pm – 6 pm, Thursday 1pm – 8 pm, and Friday 1pm – 5pm for a guarantee of 33 hours for the right candidate.

The Family is able to be a little flexible with this schedule for the right candidate and provide a few more or few less hours on some days. Nights needed once per week. This is ideal for the Family, but not mandatory if the right person could not do evenings or desired fewer hours. A Part-time schedule would be Monday – Thursday 1pm – 6pm for a total of 20 hours per week.

Their oldest is in First Grade at Durham Academy. Loves sports, games and puzzles, drawing, books, and Legos. This spring, he will be playing soccer and tennis. Their youngest attends preschool at Westminster School for Young Children 5 days/week (MWF) from 9am – 1pm. Loves trains, the Life & Science Museum, and really anything his older brother is doing or interested in.

The Family is really looking for someone who is responsible, proactive, experienced in caring for toddlers and young school aged children, and a team player. The Family is very much family oriented and would love someone who wants to be seen as an extension of them to their children with healthy and stimulating developmental activities and adventures. Their home has a backyard to play in as well as being inside a very walkable neighborhood.

• Picking up Harris Teeter online grocery order and putting groceries away
• Weekly kids’ laundry
• Light kitchen cleaning (e.g., sweep floors, wipe counters, load and unload dishwasher)
• Cooking is mostly basic food prep (e.g., chopping)
• Trash and recycling
• General tidying of kids’ toys
• Receive and unpack deliveries
• Drive children to and from school (some days), to after school activities such as soccer practice and tennis clinic, and to any activities Nanny wishes to do with the children when not in school (e.g., Life & Science Museum, playground, Notasium, library, etc.). The Family will provide two car seats for Nanny’s car.

Experience: 2+ Years of Experience as a Nanny/ or Teacher

References: Minimum of 2 References, ideally written

Background: Pass a stringent background check

Personality Traits: Kind, creative, engaging, organizing, energetic, punctual, and communicative (example – would tell Family when running late).

Salary: $22 to $24 + OT an hour depending on experience (Could be flexible for perfect candidate w/experience)

15 Vacation (Days during which family is on vacation, which includes 2 separate weeks in the summer and the week between Christmas & New Year’s.)
