Position Description
The Project Architect will be a key leader on the team responsible for guiding clients through the design process while producing high quality construction documents. This role is fully responsible for multiple multifamily and/or small commercial projects and supports project pipeline development with multifamily/affordable housing clients throughout North Carolina and Virginia.
Responsibilities- Lead architecture services including due diligence, feasibility studies, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, construction administration, internal construction support, and quality assurance/quality control.
- Understand, communicate, and ensure the execution of clients’ values, goals, and vision for their project.
- Provide clients with timely, accurate, and helpful information: facilitate bi‑weekly client meetings, create and manage schedules (Gantt charts), and track fees and construction budgeting support.
- Onboard and manage consultants and trade partners.
- Partner with firm executives and business development staff to win projects.
- Professional Architectural Degree with 8+ years of experience.
- Specific experience in subsidized affordable housing projects (esp. LIHTC) preferred.
- Strong understanding of project management and highly organized.
- Confident and capable guide for clients.
- Team‑friendly collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in Revit, Sketch Up, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Achieve 100% client satisfaction.
- Be an integral part of a functional team.
- Keep projects on budget and on schedule.
- Build long‑term partnerships with trade partners.
- W2, salaried, full‑time employment with salary based on experience.
