Position Description

The Project Architect will be a key leader on the team responsible for guiding clients through the design process while producing high quality construction documents. This role is fully responsible for multiple multifamily and/or small commercial projects and supports project pipeline development with multifamily/affordable housing clients throughout North Carolina and Virginia.

Responsibilities
  • Lead architecture services including due diligence, feasibility studies, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, construction administration, internal construction support, and quality assurance/quality control.
  • Understand, communicate, and ensure the execution of clients’ values, goals, and vision for their project.
  • Provide clients with timely, accurate, and helpful information: facilitate bi‑weekly client meetings, create and manage schedules (Gantt charts), and track fees and construction budgeting support.
  • Onboard and manage consultants and trade partners.
  • Partner with firm executives and business development staff to win projects.
Requirements
  • Professional Architectural Degree with 8+ years of experience.
  • Specific experience in subsidized affordable housing projects (esp. LIHTC) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project management and highly organized.
  • Confident and capable guide for clients.
  • Team‑friendly collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Sketch Up, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite.
