We're seeking an experienced Senior Landscape Architect to lead complex and meaningful projects from vision through construction while helping develop the next generation of design professionals. This role offers the opportunity to combine creative design leadership, project management, client engagement, and team mentorship within a highly collaborative environment.
As a Senior member of the team, you'll guide projects across a diverse portfolio that includes parks, commercial developments, mixed-use communities, and master-planned developments, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions that have a lasting impact on the communities they serve.

What You'll Do- Lead and mentor a team of landscape architects throughout all phases of project delivery, from concept design through construction.
- Drive the successful execution of projects while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
- Develop thoughtful, innovative, and sustainable design solutions across a variety of project types.
- Partner with clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to bring project visions to life.
- Build and strengthen client relationships through networking, proposal development, interviews, and business development activities.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and technical reports.
- Navigate entitlement, permitting, and regulatory requirements to keep projects moving forward.
- Oversee project planning, site layout, and land development efforts while integrating landscape architecture and civil design considerations.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and team resources to maximize efficiency and project success.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance design quality, project delivery, and team performance.
- Provide coaching, technical guidance, and professional development support to team members.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve design and construction challenges while maintaining project quality.
- Contribute to presentation graphics, project photography documentation, and design materials that showcase project excellence.
- 8+ years of landscape architecture experience with increasing responsibility in project management and design leadership.
- Experience delivering projects such as parks, commercial developments, mixed-use developments, and master-planned communities.
- Professional Landscape Architect License (PLA/RLA).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.
- Strong understanding of site planning, permitting, entitlement processes, and land development.
- Experience managing project budgets, cost estimates, schedules, and resources.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate design professionals.
- Strong knowledge of sustainable design principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to build trusted client relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse project teams.
- A portfolio demonstrating design excellence and involvement throughout the project lifecycle, including built work, presentation graphics, and technical design capabilities.
- Experience with Civil 3D and Revit.
- Background in land development and site layout.
- Strong design sensibility that balances creativity with technical excellence.
- Experience presenting to clients, supporting proposals, and participating in interviews and fee discussions.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Durham, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
