Designer, Architect ​/ Sr. Architect, Creative Design ​/ Digital Art

Thought Craft Architects is seeking a talented and motivated Designer with 1–4 years of professional experience to join our Durham studio.

We are an award-winning, design-driven architecture practice with studios in Durham, NC and Somerville, MA. Our work spans mixed-use and multifamily, commercial, higher education, and modern residential design. Across project types, we bring a strong commitment to thoughtful design, sustainability, craft, and creating places that have lasting value.

As a small, collaborative studio, we offer emerging designers something that can be difficult to find at larger firms:
meaningful project responsibility early in your career, direct access to firm leadership and clients, and exposure to projects from initial ideas through construction.

You’ll work closely with experienced architects and partners while developing your skills in design, documentation, consultant coordination, and construction administration.

• Has 1–4 years of professional architecture experience and a professional degree in Architecture
• Is a thoughtful designer and collaborative problem solver
• Is curious, motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking initiative
• Has experience with or interest in higher education, multifamily/mixed-use, commercial, and residential projects
• Has strong Revit skills; proficiency with Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, and Enscape is a plus
• Is interested in sustainable design, material innovation, and how buildings are put together
• Wants to grow professionally and work toward architectural licensure
